I believe the below photo is circa Summer 1945, just before the surrender of Japan. I thought the second individual from the left was possibly Joseph McCarthy below his run for the Senate. However, in trying to match photos, the resemblance was less than convincing. For sure, the person on the far right of the photo is Lt. Commander William C. Livingood. It seems likely, based on his rank, that the picture is associated with Lt. Commander Livingood's assignment with the VMF-514 and the VMTB-144 on the USS Salerno Bay. While Captain W. C. Holt was in Command of the Salerno Bay, compared with other pictures, the individual on the far left did not seem to be him.
